Bloom 2012

Marion Keogh, as part of a collaboration with 3design gardens, won a Gold Medal in the Concept Garden category. They also won the Best in Category award. The garden called “Angel’s Fishing Rods, Mermaid’s Tears – a Tale of the Sea” highlighted the problem of plastic pollution in the sea. A large fisherman’s net was suspended in the centre of the garden which was then filled with planting depicting the bounty of the sea. Huge balls of Box symbolized the rolling waves of the sea.

Jane Powers from Sunday Times Magazine said: “I was struck by their enthusiasm, energy and confidence in the design. This show garden was surprisingly good-looking and colourful for such a sombre subject.”
